Black Creek Community Health Center (CHC) is a not-for-profit, community-based organization that delivers primary care services to residents living in Northwest Toronto. With a focus on equitable access to care, Black Creek CHC works closely with community members and partner organizations to address the social determinants of health. There is an opportunity to join our volunteer Board of Directors, beginning June 2024. We are seeking leaders or emerging leaders who are passionate about Black Creek CHC’s vision, share our values. and would like to provide meaningful input into the direction of the organization.
In addition to providing financial and fiscal oversight to the organization, the Board of Directors provides strategic leadership in the Centre’s priority areas that were identified for the next 3 years:
- Advancing Health Equity through Collaboration
- Maximizing Research and Knowledge Mobilization
- Increasing Access to Care and Community Wellbeing
The current board is comprised of individuals that represent various sectors such as health and social services, education, academic, and non-profits. The ideal candidate to join the board will live or work in the Black Creek CHC service delivery area. We are specifically interested in individuals who have governance experience and represent the following areas:
- Francophone community
- Finance (CPA designation or equivalent)
- Legal (expertise in the non-profit sector is an asset)
- Health equity and community engagement
